The campaign will be making its’ next stop in Tacoma on Sept. 26 at the LeMay, Americas Car Museum, at 7 p.m. The museum is located at 2702 E. “D” St. Autographs, photograph opportunities and one-on-one interviews will be available following the event. Prior event interviews and photograph opportunities are available upon request.
According to pre-registration numbers, the upcoming event will upwards of 300 people in attendance and is estimated to be the most successful event held to date. “We are urging Tacoma residents to pre-register for the event in order to secure a spot,” Dana Sheets, Spokesperson for Dr. Steve Marinkovich, DDS, ABDSM, said. “We will try to accommodate everyone, but are urging those who can, to pre-register.”
As part of the event, free in-home sleep tests will be offered to attendees, courtesy of Sleep Group Solutions. In addition, experts will speak on sleep apnea, health dangers and possible treatment options. Moon and Kennard will be discussing their experiences with sleep apnea and why treatment is so important. Dr. Kim Nevus, MD, will be at the event to diagnose those who have sleep apnea. Dr. Marinkovich will be speaking on how dentists now play a role in the treatment process for sleep apnea.
The upcoming event is sponsored by Sleep Group Solutions, Gergen's Orthodontic Lab and the Pro-Players Health Alliance (PPHA). The goal of the event and campaign is to generate as much awareness, nation-wide, about sleep apnea, the “silent killer.” “I believe by spreading awareness we can save lives,” David Gergen, President of PPHA said. “We have gone above and beyond for this event and been able to reach out and get organizations such as the American Legion, to be a part of it.”

ABOUT PPHA: The Pro-Players Health Alliance (PPHA),is an organization dedicated to helping former NFL players, through providing testing and treatment options for those who suffer from sleep apnea. In addition, the PPHA is dedicated to integrating education and raising sleep apnea awareness, in a fun and memorable way. In addition to the campaign, the PPHA is dedicated to testing and getting people treated who suffer from sleep apnea. The PPHA will be at Temple University in Philadelphia on Oct. 12 with The Living Heart Foundation in efforts to spread awareness.

ABOUT DAVID GERGEN: David Gergen has been a nationally respected dental lab technician for over 25 years. He received the award for "The Finest Orthodontic Technician in the Country" given by Columbus Dental in 1986. He also received a lifetime achievement award by the Gelb Academy as America’s greatest Orthodontic technician of all time, in 2012. He has worked for some of the pioneers in the orthodontic and sleep dentistry fields. Gergen and his father John Gergen began Gergen Orthodontic labs in 1984 and has grown it into one of the most respected labs in the country. One of his proudest achievements is receiving The National Leadership award for Arizona Small Businessman of the Year in 2004.
