Springfield, Missouri (PRWEB) September 20, 2012
Convoy of Hope will hold the first “Running with Convoy” 5K run/walk in Springfield on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. to benefit the organization’s children’s feeding initiatives, disaster response work and U.S. community outreach events.
“Springfield is home to us so we’re excited to bring the community together for this event to help those less fortunate here at home, in the nation and around the world,” says Jeff Nene, national spokesperson for Convoy of Hope. “It’s a way for families, groups and individuals to join in our efforts to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”
The “Running with Convoy” 5K promises to be a unique running experience. At each kilometer, participants will take in the culture from each of the four regions that Convoy of Hope serves -- the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Africa. Each paid participant will receive a shirt, running bib, GPS tracking chip and a first-hand look at where their contribution is being used.
Registration for the event is $25.00. For more information on how to register, location and FAQs, visit: runningwithconvoy.org.
