Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 23, 2012
Burning Tree, a licensed long term drug and alcohol treatment center specializing in a proven relapse prevention curriculum, announces its 10th annual alumni reunion, to take place at the Burning Tree Ranch facility located in Kaufman, TX, on October 20, 2012 beginning at 2:00 PM.
The day will be filled with a golf tournament in the morning, followed by fellowship, fun, and mouth-watering food. The day offers a once a year opportunity where alumni, family, staff members, and current clients can gather together to share memories, stories, hope, encouragement and strength. The picturesque ranch setting will be lit up at night with a fireworks show that will rival any Fourth of July show.
The reunion is a small piece of the vision that David Elliott, Burning Tree's founder, had when he originally opened Burning Tree in 1991. "The event symbolizes their winning battle against addictions and freedom to move on to enjoy lives of excellence. The best part of the event, for me, is when the alumni share their experience, strength and hope; they carry an inspiring message of how the odds were stacked against them but they persevered to find the truth that set them free."
The continued success of Burning Tree alumni is a vital part of the organization’s mission. Beyond the achievement of sobriety as the culmination of the program, relapse prevention skills developed by participants within the program better ensure an ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle free from addiction long after completing treatment. A four-year study of the Burning Tree program reveals a success rate of 73 percent, compared to only 31 percent of short-term treatment clients who reach one year of continuous sobriety.
"Burning Tree is a long-term residential facility, so we spent a lot of time here and revealed our very souls," reports Bethany Lutz, Burning Tree alum. "The alumni, including myself, get excited to reunite with peers and staff, with whom we've shared both laughter and tears. We get to celebrate the gift of recovery and be honored for the ongoing service work we do for Burning Tree clients and in our communities."
