A DUI lawyer must know how to explore all legal and factual defenses, get evidence suppressed, and, most importantly, get positive results.
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) September 20, 2012
David Katz, an Orlando criminal & DUI attorney and founding partner of Katz & Phillips,P.A., is the featured speaker at the Orange County Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Luncheon on September 27, 2012, in Orlando, FL. Attorney Katz has been invited to share his expertise on the topic of beating a breath test at trial.
“Florida breath test results often times show errors. A DUI lawyer must understand the science and standards that support this type of testing in order to challenge the results of these tests,” said David Katz.
Former Assistant State Attorney Katz is a knowledgeable and experienced DUI lawyer who understands the ins and outs of Florida DUI law. He also has unique insight into the workings of the breathalyzer used by Florida law enforcement in DUI convictions. DUI lawyer Katz received training with this device, the Intolxilyzer 8000 during his time serving the State of Florida. He also served as the DUI/Intoxilyzer Lead Prosecutor with the Seminole County State Attorney’s Office. His practice is focused on DUI defense and he has played a key role in the suppression of hundreds of breath test results in the Central Florida area.
Defense attorneys and other attendees will learn about the breath test procedure and ways to challenge its accuracy. Issues with DUI breath testing will include possible errors that can occur at each step in the breath testing process. Strategies for keeping breath test results from being admitted as evidence at trial will also be explored, as will strategies for dealing with and discrediting bad breath test results.
“A DUI lawyer must know how to explore all legal and factual defenses, get evidence suppressed, and, most importantly, get positive results,” said Katz.
