The Artemis Top 50 is the water industry’s benchmark for innovation that will matter. It identifies the new solutions that will meet the world's water challenges

Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) September 21, 2012

The Water Initiative is pleased to announce that it has been chosen for the 2012 Artemis Top 50 Water Tech Listing.™"The Artemis Top 50 is the water industry’s benchmark for innovation that will matter. It identifies the new solutions that will meet the world's water challenges,” stated Laura Shenkar, Chair of the Artemis Top 50™. The Top 50 are the most promising companies in the emerging global high tech wave in water” and is “unique in that judges evaluate not just technology and its application, but its real business viability going forward.”

The Water Initiative (TWI) was selected by a jury that included experts from corporations such as Intel, Archer Daniels Midland, IBM, Ecolab, GmbH and Syngenta as well as McKinsey, CH2M Hill, Carollo Engineers, Nalco and the Singapore Public Utilities Board.

TWI successfully completed the installation of customized WaterCura® filters in the State of Durango, Mexico in July 2012. The Water Initiative’s game-changing program provides over 125,000 people (approximately 5 people per household) with access to arsenic-free and pathogen-free drinking water. Importantly, The Water Initiative’s success in Durango, Mexico marks the first time in history that a Point of Drinking (POD) filtration solution has been chosen over centralized water treatment approaches in a municipal bid/award process.

In early September 2012, TWI completed a Customer Satisfaction Survey across 1227 homes in Mexico where WaterCura® filters were installed earlier this year. The results of this Survey are overwhelmingly positive, and TWI is delighted to share the following key highlights:
93% of respondents were concerned about their local water quality.
92% believe the WaterCura® filter improves the taste of their drinking water.
96% believe the WaterCura® filter was installed quickly.
99% believe the WaterCura® filter is easy to use.

Above all, 97% of all people surveyed are satisfied with their WaterCura® filter from TWI.
