Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) September 21, 2012
NeoSpeech, a leader in text-to-speech (TTS) software and speech-enabled solutions, announced today that HanZi Reader, an iOS app that helps users learn to read Chinese characters and compound words, now integrates with the NeoSpeech TTS Mandarin voice, “Liang,” and is currently available as an In-App purchase at the Apple iTunes web portal. Users can now enjoy a natural-sounding TTS voice while learning the correct pronunciation of their chosen Chinese text.
HanZi Reader, created by iOS developer Robert Phillips, scans and translates any Chinese text or story that has been pasted into the app. It then displays this text in a reader-style document, where users can touch the words of interest, and have the dictionary definition instantly displayed. Words can also be read aloud by the NeoSpeech TTS voice which enables users to grasp the flow, meaning and grammar of the text, and importantly, improve skills as a reader of Chinese.
“NeoSpeech has provided embedded speech solutions to thousands of app developers on iOS/iPhone and Android platforms,” said Mr. Moon, CEO of NeoSpeech. “We are excited to work with independent iOS developers like Mr. Phillips and continue to support mobile app developers and their communities.”

About Hanzi Reader
HanZi Reader is an iOS app that helps an individual learn to read Chinese characters and compound words while reading and enjoying the flow of any Chinese text or story.
Mr. Phillips, HanZi Reader Founder, is a full time iOS developer working on many major business and commercial projects, but has developed HanZi Reader as a personal project due to his avid interest in the Chinese Language. In fact, it was while learning Chinese at home that Robert found he needed a tool to help him learn to read Chinese in a faster, more efficient way rather than stopping every few words to consult a dictionary; HanZi Reader was born.
