White Plains, NY (PRWEB) September 21, 2012
At a news conference held in the Auditorium of Greenburgh, NY, Town Hall yesterday, Paul Feiner, Town Supervisor, and Dario A. Cortes, PhD, Berkeley College President, acknowledged the benefits of a winning partnership established between the town and the Career Services Department of Berkeley College in White Plains, NY.
“This partnership is of tremendous benefit to the Town of Greenburgh and the 90,000 citizens we serve,” said Mr. Feiner. “We are so proud of these talented students from Berkeley College who are performing meaningful government work, gaining real government work experience, and saving our taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
Dr. Cortes praised Greenburgh town leaders for their roles in mentoring students. He emphasized the importance of students being prepared for and gaining real-world experience. Furthermore, he pointed out that every Berkeley College student, in every field, is required to participate in an internship prior to graduation.
“The caliber of career opportunities that this town has offered our students is a testament to the enthusiasm that town officials have given this program,” said Dr. Cortes. “The skills that our students have acquired will indicate to future employers that they are hardworking individuals with a valuable background in town governance experience.”
