Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) September 21, 2012
Beaver Toyota and the New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding are sponsoring, along with others, a major, community event featuring a number of local schools in a Paint-On competition (taking place at Beaver Toyota) where teams of students will be painting new Toyotas with a creative design or replicating a masterpiece. The event will take place over the weekend of Sept. 29-30 with spectator watching expected to bring many, many people. There will be food catered by Cowgirl and music provided by different groups from Santa Fe University, face painting, informative booths and more. The hours are from 11-4 both days with judging to take place on-line for 10 days with finals at the Santa Fe Mall. This is the first of what is hoped will become an annual Santa Fe Community Event - "The Paint On". This event is featured on Santa Fe’s premier on-line visitor guide SantaFe.com
This event calls on several teams of amateur artists to create art with a vehicle as the canvas. This is more than car art. It’s actually artistic paintings on vehicles. The artistic creations will be similar to car body art and cool car paintings seen in every day life and at car shows, but in this event it could end up being a lot more. In past contests similar to this one, artists covered the entire vehicle with art, even the windshield! The paints used are washable, so Beaver Toyota will to take care to make sure the paintings are not washed off before art is judged.
For information on participating in this event please contact The New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding.
Blu 102.9 will be broadcasting live from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday and KBAC 98.1 Radio Free Santa Fe will be broadcasting live on Sunday from 11 -1.
How it will work:
- Friday, Sept. 28 – Chris Tapia of Color Express – will be painting Toyotas a base coat of white.
- Saturday, Sept. 29 & Sunday, Sept. 29 – The teams will paint the vehicles with creative designs or replica’s of masterpiece works of art.
- All vehicles will be on display at Santa Fe Place Mall Oct 17-21.
- The winner will be announced Oct 21st.
