US Court convicts Vinay Bharadwaj on multiple counts of child molestation. Vinay Bharadwaj is a convicted felon, who had earlier brought false allegations of abuse against the Hindu spiritual leader, His Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda. Bharadwaj [State of Washington - Case No. 10-1-10009-8 SEA], sentenced Vinay Bharadwaj to 57 months (4 years & 9 months) in prison, followed by immediate deportation from the USA. Bharadwaj's appeal for a fresh trial was denied by the court.

However, no charges were framed against Nithyananda, as Bharadwaj failed to provide any proof of his allegations.

On 14 August 2012, The same court found Vinay Bharadwaj guilty on 3 separate felony counts of child molestation and for a fourth count of communicating with a child for immoral purposes. Child abuse is considered among the most serious crimes in the U.S., and Bharadwaj was immediately taken into custody without bail.
