London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 26 September 2012
Lycamobile has been shortlisted for The BlackBerry Growth Strategy of the Year Award at this year’s National Business Awards in partnership with Orange. Headquartered in London, Lycamobile is a prepaid mobile SIM card provider that provides low-cost, high-quality international and national calls and has successfully accomplished its milestone acquiring 20 million customers in over 15 countries.
Going up against the likes of Baringa Partners and MVF Global Ltd, they will battle it out for the prestigious award, with the winner being revealed at the National Business Awards gala dinner held on 13th November in London.
Leslie Copeland, CEO, Vitesse Media and judge for the category said: “Lycamobile is racing towards an ambitious revenue target and its goal of becoming the world’s leading low-cost high-quality pre-paid mobile call provider.”
Milind Kangle, CEO, Lycamobile said: “Since our launch in 2006, Lycamobile’s vision set by our Group Chairman and Founder, Subaskaran Allirajah and unique strategy has powered the company to 15 countries and over 20 million customer activations”.
“To be recognised by such an esteemed institution as the National Business Awards is an absolute honour and testament to the hard work, commitment and sound growth strategy the team has worked tirelessly to cultivate and implement. I am extremely proud.”
All National Business Awards finalists represent an annual turnover in excess of £135 billion and collectively employ over 700,000. They cover activities as diverse as digital marketing, international road haulage and logistics, water engineering and life sciences: sectors that reflect key areas of UK capability with high potential for international expansion. The diverse size of the companies entering is also huge – ranging from a business with an annual turnover of less than £50k to high growth and high value companies with multi-billion pound revenues.
Baroness Virginia Bottomley, Chair of Judges said: “This year has been a challenging environment for British businesses: these finalists demonstrate how companies are succeeding in the current climate through innovation, originality and tenacity. It’s good to see a broad range of companies both in sector and size – an impressive representation of the potential British businesses have. Congratulations to all our finalists.”
The National Business Awards supports Help for Heroes, a charity that offers support and advice for wounded soldiers.
