Maryland is aggressively working towards a cleaner and more reliable energy future.

Angela Visintainer and Dion Banks of Cambridge Environmental Technologies were honored as joint recipients of the Industry Leadership Award, presented by the Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC), for their efforts in the field of biomass energy at the 2012 Maryland Clean Energy Summit, held Sept. 18.

Annually, the MCEC selects individuals, companies, and organizations that are committed to advancing clean energy, energy efficiency, and job creation in the state of Maryland. These distinguished selectees are rewarded for their endeavors through partnerships, advocacy, entrepreneurism, and leadership.

“It’s such an honor to receive this award when there are so many people working tirelessly to advance Maryland’s clean energy economy,” says Angela Visintainer. “I’m excited to keep building on the great momentum we have going, and I can’t wait to see how far we’ve come by this time next year.”

The awards were presented by Kathy Magruder, Executive Director of MCEC, Abigail Hopper, Energy Advisor to Gov. Martin O’Malley, and Calvin Butler, Director of Government Relations for Exelon Corporation.

“Maryland is aggressively working towards a cleaner and more reliable energy future,” says Dion Banks. “Cambridge Environmental Technologies is proud to be a part of this movement which will lead to energy independence, a cleaner environment and job creation.”
