Based on a report from,his brother passed away just hours before the game. And for playing despite what happened, commented that Smith was such an inspiration to others.

Despite his grief, Smith scored two touchdowns during the game, said the report. On the second quarter, it relayed that he pointed to the sky, knelt to pray for a moment and pointed upward again after his first touchdown. The rest of the Ravens also paid respect to his late brother by offering a pre-game moment of silence.

The report shared that Smith's younger brother, Tevin Chris Jones, died late Saturday night. The cause was a motorcycle accident. A separate report from detailed that it happened on Route 672 in Westmoreland County, northeast of Virginia. It added that the police confirmed alcohol was not the cause and that Jones was wearing his helmet. He was 19.
