How FDA Pharmaceutical Drug and Medical Device Advisory Committee Members Prepare and What Influences Them

3D Communications announced today that (DIA) Drug Information Association published results from and analysis of a survey of former FDA advisory committee members. The survey was fielded earlier this year by 3D Communications.

“After preparing companies for FDA advisory committee meetings for more than a decade, we had our own opinions of what was important to FDA advisors, but we wanted data on key issues,” remarked Jim DiBiasi, partner, 3D Communications. “This survey of current and former advisory committee members revealed strategic and tactical factors that sponsor teams should consider in their planning and preparation for FDA drug or device advisory committee meetings. The findings also suggest potential areas of interest for the FDA to address as it recruits and trains committee members.” The survey findings cover such areas as sponsor and agency background materials, presentations, and Q&A sessions.

The online version of the article is currently available and can be found at http://dij.sagepub.com/content/early/2012/09/07/0092861512458096). The print publication is scheduled for the November issue of DIA’s Drug Information Journal (DIJ).
