With just a few days until the Dahlicious Dress Up Day in aid of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, sales of Roald Dahl’s most memorable storybook characters are still ‘phizz-whizzing’ off the shelves, according to Essex-based fancy dress retailers, allfancydress.com.
The premise behind the Dahlicious Dress Up Day is to raise funds for specialist nursing and equipment, to make the day-to-day lives of seriously ill children that little bit more enjoyable, as well as giving their parents and guardians some much-needed respite.
Mark Heaton, of allfancydress.com, said: “The success of these kind of days goes a long way to helping children with rare lifelong illnesses that unfortunately receive very little funding. That’s why it is so important for the Dahlicious Dress Up Day to raise the profile of the good work that people do at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
“We all know that children have the best imaginations and Roald Dahl’s splendid storybooks helped feed that imagination. It is sure to be a fun-filled day for the kids at school as they turn up for registration in an outfit modelled on their favourite character. At All Fancy Dress we have many of Roald Dahl’s most popular characters covered with our very own Roald Dahl themed costumes.”
The Dahlicious Dress Up Day has been warmly welcomed by the day’s ambassador, television presenter Claudia Winkleman, who, as a mother herself, is delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause.
“The Dahlicious Dress Up Day offers a fantastic opportunity for schools to work together for a common goal and stimulate children’s imaginations whilst inspiring compassion for other children living with a serious illness,” she said.
With larger than life costumes modelled on everything from Willy Wonka to the Enormous Crocodile, there is something for everyone to enjoy. All Fancy Dress stocks a full range of Roald Dahl fancy dress for all ages.
