“But this might just be a reflection of the limited offer in shops these days,” Adam agrees. “And though small briefs are always our top sellers, other styles follow close behind. Men tend to have a favourite they stick with - always tighty whities in pure cotton, always black because they wash everything together, or maybe a certain design from just one brand. I often have to advise customers what to buy next when a favourite design is discontinued.”

Not every man wants classic, repeatable pants - some love bright colours, the latest fashion prints, more sensual styling or perhaps silky microfibre fabrics. And online they see many more collections and can compare similar products.

Once men trust a brand or a website like, they tend to stay loyal. Adam is of course delighted: “We have lots of regular customers, some still with us after several years. They might buy every few weeks or months, or just once a year.
