New Malden based headphone and cable specialist, Custom Cable, is launching its new online headphone comparator service, to enable customers to clearly and simply identify the models they are interested in and make side by side comparisons to aid their purchasing process.

We’ve seen an explosion in the sales of headphones over the past few years, largely driven by the phenomenal growth of the iPod, iPhone and other portable music players. Our new comparison website takes the confusion out of the selection process.

With 30 years experience of helping music lovers select the best headphones for their needs, Custom Cable is now making the process of selecting from the ever increasing number of headphone models and styles even easier. The new company website enables visitors to categorise and select headphones by manufacturer, type, price, colour, impedance, frequency response and cable length. The user can then select different products and add them to a Compare List to view side-by-side and quickly identify the features of each model.

The new website, also features a fully functional shopping cart facility for mail order supply or a click and collect option for those who would prefer to visit the company’s premises. Located on the High Street of New Malden, Custom Cable is ideally situated to serve the headphone buying public of Surrey and London, being just 22 minutes from central London by train. Its extensive demonstration facilities and large range of complementary products such as headphone amplifiers, DACs and other items of hi-fi equipment, provides visitors with the opportunity to try their shortlisted products before buying.

As authorised stockists of headphones from Sennheiser, Stax, Grado, Beyer and many other brands, the company offers full manufacturers’ warranties on all its products.

Phil Wannell, business manager, said, “We’ve seen an explosion in the sales of headphones over the past few years, largely driven by the phenomenal growth of the iPod, iPhone and other portable music players. This has resulted in the choice of headphones - the different styles, shapes and colours available - becoming much larger and therefore far more confusing.” He added, “After a lot of careful development we are very pleased to launch our new comparison website, which takes the confusion out of the selection process and simplifies the decision making for our customers.”

About Custom Cable
Founded in 1985 as a mail order only company, Custom Cable began distributing catalogues to tens of thousands of UK customers who wanted cables and accessories for their HiFi systems. During the first 10 years of operation it grew rapidly and began distributing many well-known brands to businesses and had an input in many cable and accessory designs, some of which are still available!

In 2005 the partner website was set up to cater for all headphone related queries and the company was appointed as Sennheiser's Consumer Spares Partner for headphones and soon became the ‘go to people’ for all of Sennheiser customers requiring headphone spares.

In 2009 the headphone and cable businesses were merged to give customers a one-stop shop for all their cable, headphone, headphone amp and DAC requirements.
