Extreme Fitness, Toronto’s top chain of fitness clubs, is excited to announce the addition of two new classes to their roster: Cardio Kickboxing and Pilates Mat.

With Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai boxing leading the way, boxing and kickboxing have become one of the most in-demand workouts today. In gyms across North America, it’s not uncommon to see MMA gyms filled with everyone from professional fighters to stay-at-home moms looking to increase their workout intensity. Extreme Fitness’s Cardio Kickboxing Program is sure to toughen up attendees while introducing many health benefits such as increased stamina, improved flexibility and greater core strength. Cardio Kickbox is inspired by the Martial Arts so attendees can also expect to throw a mixture of different punches, blocks and kicks – what better way to release some workday stress and aggression!

For a calmer option, there is also the Pilates Mat Program. This program takes the traditional Pilates workout to a new level by adding another layer of physicality. Attendees of this program will learn how to better work the body’s core muscles by isolating specific muscles in the back and abdomen. Certified instructors will be there to assist attendees and make corrections – a critical element in getting the most out of a Pilates workout. Benefits of the Pilates Mat Program include strengthening of the core; including the abs and back, more strength in arms and legs, better posture and better balance. For those who suffer from minor ailments that limit spinal and abdominal strength, Pilates Mat is an excellent fitness option.
