On September 26, 2012, social media marketing agency, fishbat, Inc., releases a video press release, featuring interviews with real consumers waiting to buy the Apple iPhone 5 in the heart of Manhattan.

While swarms of people awaited the release of the newest iPhone, fishbat COO, Scott Darrohn ventured to Apple’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan to interview consumers waiting to make their purchase. Of those interviewed, many cited loyalty and tradition as their reason for braving a line that wrapped around the entire store. Claiming that they had purchased each version of the phone during their opening weekend, the interviewed consumers did not want to miss the same experience with the iPhone 5.

Other reasons cited for purchasing Apple’s newest release included bandwidth, speed, screen size and the 4G LTE network. Still, sales for the phone during its premiere weekend fell short of what many expected, capping off at five million units within three days – short of the six to ten million Apple had anticipated.
