In her new thriller “Death Doesn’t Knock” (published by iUniverse), Anita Lowe tells the story of a woman’s seemingly perfect life crumbling around her in a plot which seems to be organized by the people she’d least suspect.
Though she seems to have her life in complete order and control, Ann Foster can’t help but feel concerned. She is experiencing strange premonitions of danger. Her family and doctor assure her that everything is fine, but then the premonition is realized when Ann is the victim of a brutal home invasion and other frightening events. Now Ann’s suspicious are on full alert, and her guard is up. She becomes wary of those around her – her boss and her husband – until one night Ann is attached by an even more unlikely assailant… her daughter.
An excerpt from “Death Doesn’t Knock”:
“Just as she was about to turn and run for the living room, a shadow, a real living threat surfaced behind her. Something soft and silky floated over her face and then tightened on her throat, squeezing the very breath out of her. Her next conscious thought was feeling his knee crushing into her back, as he bruised and choked out the flame of her life. She thought, If only I could tell him to take what you want … valuables mean nothing to me …
The intensity of the pressure caused her brain to erupt in red flashes. She seemed to be drifting, and then she realized, in what was left of the black tiny recess of her brain, It’s my life he wants…”
Lowe hopes the intrigue in this fast moving tale capture readers’ imaginations. She says, “If readers enjoy the book, then my goal has been accomplished.”
