Teachers training teachers is the focus of the 30-Minute Webinar Tutorials. Lightspeed Systems wanted to provide My Big Campus users with the opportunity to collaborate and learn from their peers—all in a time efficient and easy to understand format. Organized by topic, teachers are encouraged to register for a training session time and date that best suits their schedule. Most webinars are offered after school hours, making the sessions more convenient for educators. Current topics are centered on My Big Campus features, including Bundles, Schoolwork, Group Pages, e-Portfolios, and more. New topics will be added on a regular basis, keeping the material fresh and relevant.

“The focus of My Big Campus is to create safe collaborative teaching and learning environments,” shares Merleen Johnson, Community Engagement Director at Lightspeed Systems. “And we wanted to offer users a training opportunity that embodies the same core focus. By bringing teachers together with other teachers to engage, connect, and learn more about My Big Campus, we are not only helping users become more proficient, but we are also helping build online learning communities.”

Gayle Kakac, teacher in Colorado, is pleased with the new training format. "It was so easy to sign up for the Training Webinar. The topics are relevant and the material is simple to understand. But what I enjoyed most of all was training with a fellow teacher. We were able to relate to one another, share ideas, and discuss how I can better utilize My Big Campus in the classroom. I am thankful My Big Campus provides the opportunity for teachers to collaborate with other educators across the country.”

My Big Campus is the only classroom social networking solution built specifically for schools with an emphasis on student safety. And that is by design. Lightspeed Systems is committed to providing schools with the tools they need to create safe, collaborative, and mobile learning environments—changing the way teachers teach and students learn.
