Both Cheryl and I have a lot of family in Carmel and central Indiana, so this is where we wanted to grow roots and get involved in the community.

Home Care Assistance, North America’s leading provider of in-home care for seniors, is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Carmel, Indiana that will serve older adults in the Hamilton, Boone, Hendricks, Shelby, and Marion Counties. The owners, Michael and Cheryl Rothenberger, purchased a Home Care Assistance franchise to become more involved in community outreach. Michael and Cheryl previously were in sales and management positions for major corporations before deciding to pursue a more permanent and active role in their community. Their goal is to make Home Care Assistance a company that improves the lives of the people it touches and that their children can be a part of down the road. The couple’s mission, aside from changing the way the world ages, is to provide a service that will benefit older adults and their families in the community as well as serve as a resource on aging, wellness and quality of life at home. Home Care Assistance will be hosting a Grand Opening Event at their office on October 29th at 1pm. The office is located at 12525 Old Meridian Street, Suite 130, in Carmel across from Meijer.

“I am really excited to be back in Indiana,” said Michael Rothenberger, President of Home Care Assistance – Hoosier Heartland. “Both Cheryl and I have a lot of family in Carmel and central Indiana, so this is where we wanted to grow roots and get involved in the community. We are determined to change the way the world ages and Carmel, Indiana sounds like a great place to start!”

According to a recent study, 89% of seniors said they would prefer to live at home rather than a care facility. Yet every year, thousands of seniors continue to enter nursing homes without knowing they had another option: to age in place with the help of a caregiver.

Home Care Assistance hires only the most qualified people to work as caregivers for their clients. They conduct rigorous and thorough background checks on potential employees, assessing their work experiences as well as their personalities. The company is known for being extremely selective during the hiring process, taking only 1 in 25 applicants. In addition to ensuring all caregivers are reliable and compassionate, Home Care Assistance works to best match their clients with the right caregiver so that they feel safe and comfortable in their home.

Home Care Assistance caregivers are expertly trained in the Balanced Care Method, a system exclusive to the company that focuses as much on quality of life as longevity. The Method emphasizes healthy nutrition, physical and mental stimulation, and a purposeful and calm lifestyle. Home Care Assistance caregivers provide the following services: companionship, transportation and help with errands, light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders and basic hygiene.
