Get Educated $1,000 Online College Scholarship and Grant Fund for Online Learning

GetEducated.com is granting multiple $1,000 online college scholarship awards to students enrolled in online learning. Deadline is Oct. 15 for the distance learning scholarship and grant program for online students.

GetEducated.com, an online learning research group that publishes rankings of the best online colleges, has established an online college scholarship fund for the sole purpose of awarding distance learning scholarships to online students.

Previous Get Educated online college grant winners have enrolled in online learning at Troy University, the University of Illinois Online, the University of Wisconsin Platteville, Texas Tech University, Southern Oregon University, Dakota State University, Thomas Edison State College, Ball State University, Park University, and Baker College Online.

The most recent Get Educated online student financial aid winner is a teacher and church homeschooling volunteer who is completing her online bachelor’s in English at the University of Illinois Online.

Granting scholarships to online students is an integral part of the research group’s mission to increase the affordability of a college education for non-traditional adult students, a group which benefits greatly from the convenience of online learning.

To receive online degree financial aid from Get Educated students must be US citizens, actively enrolled in an accredited online degree or certificate program, with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A short essay is required.

Online students in need can download a free online college grant application from GetEducated.com.

The upcoming deadline for scholarships for online students is October 15. A second round of applications will be accepted through March 15, 2013.
