Comedian Daniel Tosh ironically sports a $15 t-shirt while introducing his "Overpriced Concert Tee" wardrobe theme for the newest season of his TV show, Tosh.0. Vintage t-shirt marketplace offers to lend (or arm wrestle for) an exorbitantly-priced rare concert tee for an upcoming episode.

During the premiere of Tosh.0 on Tuesday night, Daniel Tosh announced the theme for his wardrobe this season: Overpriced Concert Tees. Yet the t-shirt he wore in the episode retails for $15 at various online stores. This discovery prompted Defunkd, a marketplace specializing in genuine vintage concert t-shirts, to reach out to Tosh so his torso can better meet expectations.

"He's either super cheap, got duped by a parking lot bootlegger or ripped off at a concert merch stand," says Jimmy J, the founder of the Defunkd Vintage T-Shirt Collective. "If you ask me, $15 is a bargain."

Jimmy is an award-winning expert regarding vintage t-shirts as collectible items. For the past five years he has documented the most expensive t-shirts sold around the Web on his site, In May 2011, Defunkd broke the news of an infamous Led Zeppelin backstage pass t-shirt which sold for $10,000. Since then Defunkd has been transformed into a multi-vendor marketplace which exclusively showcases and sells genuine vintage tees.

"We can boost his street cred with our rare RUN DMC My Adidas tee. Valued at a cool $13,000 it hits the mark as far as 'overpriced' goes. If he can beat me in an arm wrestling mach it's his for free. If he loses he has to pony up. If that challenge scares him he can just borrow it," Jimmy said. "His torso needs an expensive tee - we have his back."

However, not all of Defunkd's tees are priced high; the majority are priced to sell, with some listed on the niche marketplace starting at $2.54. Still in its soft-launch beta phase, the site already has thousands of registered users and has racked up hundreds of t-shirt sales.
