ITsavvy (formerly B2B Computer Products) just announced that it has outgrown its Chicago offices and moved to a much larger location across the street. The new facilities are located on the 14th floor of the 30 W. Monroe building (Monroe and Dearborn) in Chicago. The move is in response to the extraordinary growth that the company has experienced since its inception in 2004.

The former Inland Steel Building, designated a landmark in 1999, is one of Chicago’s defining post WWII commercial high rises. The design was initiated by Walter Netsch and completed by Bruce Graham (both of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill). Construction was finished in 1957—making it the first new high-rise in Chicago since the Great Depression.

The centerpiece of the lobby is a wire sculpture titled "Radiant One” by celebrated Chicago artist Richard Lippold. It spans a shallow reflecting pool and is considered the Loop's earliest successful contemporary abstract sculpture.

The building has recently undergone renovations and can accommodate expansion as the company continues to grow. The office floors are supported by columns on opposing sides that are set outside the building’s perimeter. This allows office space that is completely open (no columns or pillars across the entire floor)---a feature ITsavvy took advantage of by opting for an open, contemporary floor plan and interior design that will facilitate communication between team members and foster a sense of community while at the same time allow for privacy.

The office furnishings were provided by Chicago area-based BOS, which focuses on creating comfortable work areas that optimize employee satisfaction and performance. BOS designs environments that take into account such factors as privacy and acoustics; organizational culture; typical work flow; level of collaboration; and flexibility needs.

The final furnishing design supports the perfect balance between openness and privacy. The new office has an enhanced dining area, which gives employees an appealing place to relax and wind down during the day.

In addition to the building history and aesthetics, the office is among Chicago’s premier locations due to the expansive and flexible interior, offering spectacular views of the Central Loop and, nearly unparalleled access to the finest of everything that Chicago has to offer including shopping, restaurants, museums, parks, shows, sporting events, and transportation. It’s a great area for employees to get together with clients and prospects during the workday and friends and family in the evening.

Mike Theriault, ITsavvy’s president and CEO said that the move and employee-friendly design will help the company retain and continue to attract top talent. “As our sales team grows, we realize that we will need additional support,” he said. “Chicago is a rising technology hub and this new office will help us attract the best engineering talent as well. Our focus is to hire exceptional talent; individuals that make us smarter.”

ITsavvy is dedicating a portion of the office to its new Advanced Solutions Group. This will allow members to perform onsite configurations and tech demonstrations. The larger space will also enable onsite client-facing events.

Theriault said, “Among the reasons that we have grown so rapidly is our dedication to providing the best solutions to our clients. We do that by constantly evaluating emerging technologies. The capabilities our new office brings to the table will help us do that even better.”
