What’s cooking at the Bulfinch Hotel? How about a seared pork chop topped with crispy Red Delicious apple-cabbage slaw? This whimsical take on a modern classic is just one example of the exciting new developments at the 79-room boutique hotel, located on the iconic Bulfinch Triangle in Boston’s West End. Also in the oven: a television appearance, new leadership, and upcoming renovations.
Flat Iron Tapas Bar and Lounge, Bulfinch Hotel’s restaurant, will be featured on 7 NBC Boston in an upcoming episode of “The Dish,” a show that highlights various restaurants and signature dishes from chefs throughout the Boston region. The show, which airs on both 7 NBC and 56 CW Boston, spotlights the latest creation at the Flat Iron – a clever re-imagining of the comfort food staple pork chops and applesauce. The dish is reflective of the restaurant’s culinary style which embraces seasonality and a willingness to take risks. The segment will premiere on September 27 at 10 p.m.
Hersha acquired the Bulfinch Hotel in May 2011 and has plans to reposition the hotel. The hotel has appointed new leadership, including General Manager Joseph Reyes, who brings nearly 20 years of hospitality industry experience to his new role. Most recently, Reyes oversaw two boutique hotels in Atlanta and Saint Louis.

The Bulfinch Hotel also has a new Director of Sales, Anya Wright Senn. A native Bostonian and previously the sales manager of the Brookline Courtyard by Marriott, Senn will focus on establishing partnerships throughout the Boston region.
The Bulfinch Hotel plans to undergo a renovation of the lobby, public spaces, corridors, and all guestrooms, which will completely transform and position the hotel as the West End’s premiere boutique hotel destination. The hotel will join the Independent Collection, Hersha’s portfolio of independent hotels that curate their standout neighborhoods and offer authentic travel experiences.
With new leadership, upcoming renovations and a forthcoming television appearance the hotel is poised for an exciting year.
