Sci-Fi Fan Convention Raises Funds for Non-Profit in Abilene, Texas

The two-day convention will be held at the Abilene Civic Center on Saturday and Sunday, September 29th-30th, and will feature raffles, photo opportunities with celebrity guests, guest lecturers offering industry insights, lectures and presentations, and more.

The convention is a family-friendly event and will host several comic book artists and writers as well as special celebrity guests including Anne Lockhart of Battlestar Galactica, Bobby Clark of Star Trek, Tim Taylor of The Hunger Games, and many more.

Galaxy Ranger, Inc., presents its first Galaxy Ranger Fandays Convention, a sci-fi-themed fundraiser event open to all ages. The two-day convention will be held at the Abilene Civic Center on Saturday and Sunday, September 29th-30th, and will feature raffles, photo opportunities with celebrity guests, guest lecturers offering industry insights, lectures and presentations, and more. Event hours are from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.

The convention is a family-friendly event and will host several comic book artists and writers as well as special celebrity guests including Anne Lockhart of Battlestar Galactica, Bobby Clark of Star Trek, Tim Taylor of The Hunger Games, and many more. In addition to guest appearances, the convention will hold dynamic seminars in which guest speakers will share insights on entering into the comic book industry, including how to write and draw comics. Also speaking is Dennis Balthaser, a leading UFO Investigator, whose research has been published on thirty-one web sites and in UFO Magazine. Blathasar will be sharing details of legendary UFO cases during his lectures, specifically focusing on the UFO investigations of Roswell and Area 51. Each guest presentation will be followed with a brief time of Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to engage with celebrities and industry professionals.

Cole “JediCole” Houston, an established convention figure famous for his work in over 100 shows, will take the stage to offer several presentations, including the highlight event, a charity auction that will take place on Sunday, September 30th. The event’s proceeds will go to support the Ben Richey Boys Ranch, a non-profit, all-boys housing facility located in Abilene, Texas, that helps guide and nurture young boys ages 6-14 on its 80-acre ranch. Proceeds from the auction will also go to support our military heroes.

Tickets for the Fandays Convention are currently on sale online at http://www.galaxyranger1.com and are also sold at the door during the event. Ticket prices are $15.00 per day for ages 12 and older and $5.00 for both days for children ages 6 to 11. Children under five years old may attend the event for free.
