Fellows and Associates, a recruiter focusing purely upon the IP sector, are currently finalising their plans in anticipation of the 43rd World Intellectual Property Congress, hosted by AIPPI. AIPPI, the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, is the world's oldest global IP association dating back to 1897. It has witnessed the development of both international and national intellectual property policies and laws and plays advocate to the coordination of intellectual property laws across the world.
Phillipa Field, consultant at the firm, is a first time attendee at the Congress and was quick to highlight her enthusiasm. “I am extremely excited about attending AIPPI and am hopeful that it will help me gain further insight into the IP sector.” She adds “The Congress is a fantastic opportunity to meet with IP professionals from across the world and build a varied business network. I am keen to bring awareness of Fellows and Associates to a truly international level by strengthening our existing relationships, securing new ones and extending our reach into new markets.”
Networking has always been key to Fellows and Associates’ business strategy and they pride themselves on being the only recruiter that always attends both AIPPI and the INTA Annual Meeting. Pete Fellows comments “I think it really sets out Fellows and Associates as a firm that is committed to the industry and is willing to go that extra mile.” The Congress will certainly help the firm broaden their knowledge of the industry through taking part in discussions surrounding world-wide issues in IP and having the opportunity to learn of current and future initiatives in major international jurisdictions. Fellows and Associates believe that this will improve their ability to provide a more informed service to their clients.
Michele Fellows, director of Fellows Business Consulting – offering financial, operational and strategic services to the IP industry, is also attending the event. She has been the driving force behind ensuring the firm maximise the vast business potential that is offered at the event. She states “AIPPI is not like INTA. There are an abundance of receptions at INTA which allow for a more relaxed approach, whilst still benefiting. AIPPI is a more conservative affair and as a result, firms need to ensure they have individual meetings lined up before they arrive to ensure they get the most out of the Congress.”
