LOUISVILLE, Colo. (PRWEB) September 29, 2012
Safe Systems Inc., the largest independently owned residential and business security company in Colorado, announced that its leading-edge technology helped the Colorado Springs Police Department make an arrest of an alleged marijuana thief.
Early on Sept. 21, officers were sent to Discreet Treats on the 200 block of South Academy in Colorado Springs after the suspect triggered the security alarm, and was then was caught on camera hovering around the back door.
This arrest is the result of a new security product from Safe Systems Inc. that combines a traditional motion sensor with a video camera, which sends a 10-second video clip to Safe Systems’ UL central station. This allows Safe Systems Inc. to call the police and give them a verified update of what is happening at the customer’s premise.
Officers said the suspect had allegedly stolen more than 3 pounds of medical marijuana, valued at $5,000. It was returned to the dispensary’s owner, according to a local media report.
“Our latest security product has huge benefits for any commercial facility that has valuable assets that thieves target,” said Tim Watson, sales and marketing manager for Safe Systems. “Safe Systems is proud to contribute to helping police agencies apprehend suspects in these burglary situations.”
