ReliaQuest, LLC was the platinum sponsor for the first annual Capture the Flag (CTF) competition held this month by the Tampa Bay chapter of the ISSA.
Capture the flag events typically consist of teams made up of members with specialized information security skills trying to win points by compromising vulnerable servers or services in an isolated networking environment.
“We are honored to be part of the first ISSA CTF in Tampa and will continue to support future Information Security learning events such as this in the future,” said Joe Partlow, Director of Technical Solutions at Reliaquest.
The Tampa Bay ISSA CTF competition consisted of an advanced “Ninja” level network consisting of challenges based around Windows and Linux vulnerability scanning, exploit execution, malware reversing, network forensics, botnets and many other advanced real-world examples. The CTF also had an entry-level “Samurai” competition centered on web application hacking and privilege escalation challenges mirroring a production web and database server.
