Toronto, ON (PRWEB) September 28, 2012
Eventstream is pleased to announce that it will once again be collaborating with the international charity Free The Children to power the live webcast of their Calgary We Day event taking place October 24th at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
Eventstream, a Toronto based start-up, provides a full-service live streaming solution for events to increase their profits and exposure to a worldwide viewing audience.
“We Day celebrates the differences that youth have made in their community and we are proud to be associated with such an inspiring and empowering event,” says Eventstream President Michael Dawson. “We were happy to be able to provide the live webcasting services for last year’s We Day event in Winnipeg and are thrilled to be working with the We Day team for the second time, helping spread their message to those who aren’t able to attend in person.”
We Day events bring thousands of students and teachers together, hearing from celebrities and leaders on how they can ignite the spirit of activism and social change. It provides an opportunity for students to learn about important issues, prompting them to become leaders on subjects that matter most to them. Admission to We Day is free, but students have to earn their tickets to the event by making a promise to help with one local and global issue via the Free the Children engagement programs.
Eventstream will be webcasting the event in high definition and streaming it directly to the We Day website. The company provides premium live streaming and webcasting services to organizations and events across Canada in an effort to provide television quality broadcasting at a fraction of the price to a worldwide audience.
Eventstream will be powering the live webcast which is offered free of charge for those wishing to log in to participate in the celebrations. Viewers can watch the show online at WeDay.com

About Free The Children
Free The Children is an international charity and educational partner that has more than 1.7 million young people involved in its programs in 45 countries. Founded in 1995 by international activist Craig Kielburger, Free The Children believes in a world where young people are free to achieve their fullest potential, and empowers youth to remove barriers that prevent them from being active local and global citizens. The organization's domestic programs—which include We Day (weday.com), Free The Children's signature youth empowerment event—educate, engage and empower hundreds of thousands of youth in North America, the UK and around the world to become engaged global citizens. Its international projects have brought more than 650 schools and school rooms to youth and provided clean water and sanitation, health care and food security to one million people around the world, freeing children and their families from the cycle of poverty.
The organization has received the World's Children's Prize for the Rights of the Child (also known as the Children's Nobel Prize), the Human Rights Award from the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, and has formed successful partnerships with leading school boards and Oprah's Angel Network.
