Ezwim, the European Telecom Management leader, presented the results of the Telecom Monitor 2012 during the BTG Combiday in Soest, the Netherlands.
The main conclusions are:
Importance of active user policies by implementing BYOD
Another important result is that a passive attitude in the BYOD-issue does not work. Companies who ignore consumerization of IT through BYOD face the risk of people placing their BlackBerry SIM cards in their smartphones, which could potentially make those companies lose control over telecom related expenses.
"Our analysis and results confirm that companies miss opportunities for significant savings", said Bram Cool, Managing Director at Ezwim.
"With this report we want to address the importance of knowledge about the trends in telecom usage. It is crucial for managers to get the right tools", stressed Hein Remmen, Director Product Management and responsible for the Ezwim Telecom Monitor 2012. "The massive differences per country keep surprising us. The costs in Europe have increased much faster than in the U.S. The most surprising has been the lack of impact of BYOD on the average cost per user.”
The Ezwim Telecom Monitor is a report of the main trends in mobile telecom costs over the past year, based on a representative sample of the Ezwim database.
