After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport, N.C., has hired Tom Siemers as chief executive officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with nearly 20 years of CEO experience, Siemers will assume his new duties at Dosher Memorial Hospital on November 5, 2012.

After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport, N.C., has hired Tom Siemers as chief executive officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with nearly 20 years of CEO experience, Siemers will assume his new duties at Dosher Memorial Hospital on November 5, 2012.

Prior to joining Dosher Memorial Hospital, Siemers was chief executive officer at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa, where he provided leadership for the 217-bed hospital, 148-bed retirement center, cancer center, home health agency and employed-physician practices. Siemers has also served as CEO for Rebsamen Medical Center in Jacksonville, Ark. and Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Ky.

Siemers earned a master’s degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
