Granby, MA (PRWEB) September 29, 2012
The MacDuffle School opened this fall with 224 students representing 18 countries and the USA on it's new Granby, MA, campus, on the site of the former St. Hyacinth's Seminary. Steve Griffin, Head of School, attributes this 29% increase in enrollment over 2010 to new marketing initiatives and new opportunities that the move to Granby has offered. MacDuffie continues to enroll day students from the Springfield area as well as Granby, Belchertown, South Hadley, Amherst and Northampton as well as Northern CT. The new campus has attracted more domestic boarding students, has opened the door for additional AP courses in science and music, and has brought greater opportunities for athletics. Sport offerings now include soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, cross-country, crew, lacrosse, and ultimate frisbee.
Established in 1890 in Springfield MA, The MacDuffie School maintains its 123-year tradition of developing intellectual habits of mind, high ethical standards and respect for diversity among its students. Head of School Griffin states, "We are a global community whose student body is comprised of leaders who will have an impact and influence in their own countries as well as the United States."
