Weston, FL (PRWEB) September 30, 2012
gMed is very pleased to announce that it has been nominated for Surescripts’ prodigious White Coat of Quality award for 2012.
gMed first won the award in 2011, in collaboration with its e-prescribing partner, Dr. First. The White Coat of Quality is an award from Surescripts identifying healthcare technology companies who have committed to ensuring that their applications are creating the highest quality prescriptions each and every time. This program is an initiative to improve patient safety and improve the quality of prescribing practices nationwide.
gMed has received this nomination by successfully demonstrating ongoing quality improvement and measurement activities. Combined, prescribers using gMed’s applications are issuing over 80,000 prescriptions and renewals – each month!
As a group, gMed has reduced the number of free-typed medications in electronic prescriptions, down from 14% to 7%. This represents a significant impact to patient safety improvement. gMed looks forward to continuing this trend.
Samuel Rubinsztain, gMed VP of Product Management says: "We are thrilled to be nominated for the White Coat of Quality award for two consecutive years and believe that this is another example of gMed's commitment to quality care. We believe that together with Dr. First we are providing the best prescription management tool at the point of care compliant with industry regulations."
