Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C. is pleased to announce shareholder Diane Vaksdal Smith has been appointed to the Operation TBI Freedom advisory board. Colorado-based Operation TBI Freedom is a free, statewide program, run by the non-profit group Rocky Mountain Human Services, which provides comprehensive support for active duty and military veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) who have served in the current Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Speaking of her appointment Diane said, “I am proud to have been asked to join Operation TBI Freedom’s advisory board. I hope that my involvement and input can provide guidance and help shape the services our program offers returning veterans and families.”

Diane continued, “ It is estimated that 1 in 5 soldiers will return home with a traumatic brain injury and, according to the VA, that number in Colorado could be as high as 5000. It is crucial the community comes together to support our wounded warriors.”

Diane Smith has for many years been active in adopting and supporting American servicemen and women and returning veterans. Over the years she has adopted more than 1,000 individuals and sent care packages to American military personal stationed in war zones across the globe.

Diane Vaksdal Smith is an award-winning attorney and a former Magistrate Judge for Colorado’s Seventeenth Judicial District.
