Clearswift, the global cyber-security company, today announces the appointment of security industry expert Dr Guy Bunker as Senior Vice President of Products. This is the second senior management appointment by Clearswift this month, following the announcement of Heath Davies as Chief Executive earlier this month.
An experienced and recognised figure within the digital security industry, Guy joins Clearswift from HP where he was Global Security Architect. Prior to this, he held roles as Chief Scientist at Veritas Software Corporation and Chief Scientist and Senior Director for Technical Strategy at Symantec.
An expert in his field, Guy has written four books and is a spokesperson for the Jericho Forum, the leading international independent group of information security thought-leaders. Guy is a regular speaker at global events and has presented to the United Nations and the EU IT policy group on security issues and technological innovation.
Heath Davies, CEO of Clearswift, comments: ‘Guy’s appointment further supports the new strategic direction in which Clearswift is moving. We are excited to have an industry leader of Guy’s calibre helping us drive our strategy and innovation. Working closely with our development team headed by Alf Pilgrim PhD, CTO, Guy will be leading our product management team as we continue to develop and grow. We are strong believers in the capabilities of deep content inspection technology, which brings colour and flexibility to an otherwise monochromatic security landscape. Being able to tailor your security solutions to today’s increasingly collaborative business environment is essential.’
Guy Bunker added: ‘Clearswift has an extremely strong proposition and is very well-regarded within the industry due to its technological heritage and track record as an innovator in this sector. I am extremely pleased to be joining the company at this time, as it enters the next stage of its evolution.’
Clearswift’s content-aware, policy based solutions (Clearswift Secure Web Gateway, Clearswift Secure Email Gateway, MIMEsweeper for SMTP) enable over 17,000 organisations in 50 countries to manage and maintain no-compromise data, email and web security across all gateways and in all directions.
