Shreveport and Bossier City-area non-profit groups have banded together to present a healthy living initiative for area teens and kids. In response, MassageSchoolSanDiego.com, healthy living proponent and promoter of holistic schools in San Diego, has issued a tip sheet, detailing ways parents can help their children stay healthy and active.
Non-profit organizations in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana, have joined together to launch Healthy Green and Into the Outdoors, a nutrition, exercise and healthy living program for local children and teenagers. The program was made possible thanks to a $588,000 grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation and more than $849,000 in donations and services from local groups and businesses. As part of the initiative, community gardens will be built in lower income areas, and kids can participate in nutrition projects, health screenings and more.
