The Annual Kentucky Derby two-minute race is this Saturday, but the Annual DDC Clinic Patchwork Gala will keep guests on their feet all night long with live broadcast Derby coverage and entertainment aiming to raise a winning purse of $75,000 for DDC Clinic, a primary care and research facility serving children with rare genetic disorders.
Kicking off on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 5:30 p.m., the Patchwork Gala | Kentucky Derby Party will again be held at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. The party will showcase the 138th Kentucky Derby with equestrian theme décor and include a live broadcast of the historic race for the nation’s best 3-year old thoroughbreds. Upon arrival, party guests will be served a complimentary Mint Julep, enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, stroll through gourmet food stations, try their hand at pari-mutuel betting, bid on unique silent auction items, and enjoy DJ music entertainment.
New this year at the Patchwork Gala will be the recognition of two outstanding volunteers. The inaugural DDC Clinic Champion Award will be presented to Chuck Fowler and Gordon Safran. DDC Clinic Executive Director Blake Andres acknowledged “DDC Clinic could not have made such significant strides in genetic research and patient care without the dedication of Chuck Fowler and Gordon Safran. Co-chaired by local equestrians Pamela Blossom & Wendy Adelman-Kampinski, the Annual Patchwork Gala aims to increase previous attendance records and raise critical operating funds for the DDC Clinic. Ninety percent of the Clinic’s $1.2 million operating budget is raised by philanthropy. By increasing the attendance goal to exceed 300 guests, the Patchwork Gala hopes to increase funding and communicate greater awareness of the organization’s mission.
Tickets for the 2012 Patchwork Gala are priced at $95 a person. Tickets include valet parking, Mint Julep cocktail, 2 beverage tickets, gourmet dinner food stations, live broadcast coverage of the Kentucky Derby, pari-mutuel betting, DJ entertainment and silent auction. Packages of 4 tickets are priced at $500 and add reserved seating to the list of benefits. Additional VIP Ticket and Sponsorship Packages are priced at $1000, $3,000 and $5,000.
