Document-sharing apps key part of Liferay’s platform strategy

The Liferay family of products makes it simple to get the right content to the right people, wherever they are.

Liferay, Inc., provider of the world’s leading enterprise-class, open source portal platform, today announced the availability of Liferay Sync in both Google Play for Android and the Apple App Store on the first day of the Liferay Europe Symposium in Wiesbaden. The announcement at the premier gathering of open-source industry leaders and Liferay enthusiasts from a range of public and private sectors in Europe highlights the importance of mobile and document management technologies to Liferay’s overall open source platform strategy.

First introduced earlier this year, Liferay Sync is a document-sharing and synchronization tool that gives today’s business users a seamless experience editing and accessing documents across mobile, desktop and web environments. Sync complements Liferay’s broader strategy to unify access to enterprise assets under a single user experience. With growing complexity in the enterprise content management landscape and a move by enterprise users toward mobile technologies, the Liferay family of products makes it simple to get the right content to the right people, wherever they are.

“With Liferay Sync, we are helping Liferay users stay connected to their enterprise assets without worrying about which systems they come from,” said Liferay CEO Bryan Cheung. “We’re happy to welcome many of those professionals here at the Liferay Europe Symposium to collaborate, share and learn more about how to leverage the market-leading open source portal platform for their industry.”

The two-day Liferay Europe Symposium, which kicks off today and is the 5th Europe Symposium for Liferay, is planned to feature business and technical sessions on Liferay Portal 6.1, Liferay Marketplace and Social Office, with special keynotes from Liferay executives and a client case study from Audi AG. Attendees will also gain a sneak peek at plans for Liferay Portal 6.2, the coming version of Liferay’s flagship product, on the second day of the Symposium.
