Are four days off from school or work motivating enough to sign a petition for more vacation time? Do four consecutive days of vacation time justify, qualify, and deserve the status of a nationally celebrated holiday? MARCHVEGAS believes the answer is a resounding “Yes.”

With the kick-off of men’s college basketball, MARCHVEGAS will make its case during the hoop season to invite the public to join the cause and “Make MARCHVEGAS a 4-day™ Holiday.” The newly dubbed holiday is in its second year of existence and looking to become the holiday between St. Patrick’s Day and Easter.

According to Ellis Jordan, Brand Manager, “The holiday petition objectives are two-fold, since America is nearly last in total vacation time compared to most industrialized countries, the MARCHVEGAS holiday solution adds two bona-fide vacation days creating a four day weekend. The initiative also transforms the two least productive days of the year (the first Thursday and Friday of March Madness) into a national celebration by honoring higher education, students, and student athletes at the peak of collegiate athletics." Jordan also commented, “Signing the petition is the first step, followed by spreading the word, and actively participating, but I don’t know a single person who doesn’t like the sound of four days off from school or work.”

Next year’s annual 4-day™ holiday is from March 21-24, 2013 (the first Thursday and Friday of March Madness). MARCHVEGAS will handle the petition initiative exclusively from its MARCHVEGAS.ORG site, collecting signatures, rallying support, and spreading the word for the new 4-day™ holiday which was founded in 2011. MARCHVEGAS will then present supporting information and collected signatures to state representatives petitioning for the official holiday observance nation-wide. will continue to handle Las Vegas travel arrangements in addition to supporting this national holiday initiative.
