Field crews, more often than not, are working in the dark trying to make sound business decisions from inaccurate and disparate data sources or in some cases without data of any real value at all.

Christie, Parker & Hale LLP, one of Southern California’s leading intellectual property law firms, announced today that the firm prosecuted a major patent application through issuance for its client ProStar, Inc. of Grand Junction, Colorado.

“I am particularly excited to have this patent issued on behalf of my client as it supports and protects their utility linear asset management systems,” said Raymond R. Tabandeh, the CPH partner who prosecuted the patent. I feel confident that the patent, U.S. Pat. No. 8,144,058, covers major aspects of how utility asset data are electronically collected, stored, managed and distributed.

ProStar‘s Chief Executive Officer, Page Tucker stated: “This patent covers the entire process of how utility linear asset data can be collected, stored, managed and then distributed to the client in a patented format so that better business decisions can be made by qualifying the data and then making it readily available where it is needed the most, in the field. I believe that too many erroneous decisions are made due to a lack of real time distribution and visualization of critical project site data. Field crews, more often than not, are working in the dark trying to make sound business decisions from inaccurate and disparate data sources or in some cases without data of any real value at all.”
