SEATTLE, WA (PRWEB) April 25, 2012
“With telephone exchange facilities separated by as much as 2,000 miles and winter weather conditions that make access difficult for up to nine months of the year, Northwestel needed a proven solution to harden their infrastructure management systems,” said Mike Hallahan, Fulcrum’s Senior Director Business Development.
Northwestel services the largest operating area of any telecommunications company in the Western Hemisphere, including some of the most remote and rugged terrain in Canada. “We’re excited to implement a solution that helps Northwestel offer new and enhanced communication services to remote customers in the face of remarkably challenging environmental conditions,” adds Hallahan.
Initially, Northwestel plans to utilize Fulcrum’s flexible solution to manage spares equipment in their remotely dispersed locations, including depots, central offices, switches, warehouses and vehicles. “Northwestel is looking forward to partnering with Fulcrum to launch the CATS system to manage our network spares inventory more effectively,” according to Northwestel's Terry Prenoslo, Director Field Operations.
Next, Northwestel will use Fulcrum CATS to track equipment in real-time throughout the repair/return process. CATS will also be used to conduct recurring audits while monitoring and measuring performance. “Given the diverse geographic challenges we face in the North, improving our ability to track and access our network spares will no doubt enhance our customer service experience,” says Prenoslo.
