Filmbuffet, the film-focused social media and movie cataloging site recently celebrated their one-year anniversary of bringing film fans together. The movie social site launched in September 2011 and serves as a destination for movie fans to continue the experience of watching a good film long after the credits roll.
The site was created as a way to brings film fanatics together to discuss everything they love about film and to showcase the films they’ve seen. “We designed the site to be a one-stop destination for movie lovers to discuss, view, share and discover new films together,” states Timothy Stevens, CEO of Filmbuffet. “The success of our first year was due in large part to all the fans that became members, built movie collections, wrote movie reviews, rated films and contributed to our blog.”
Since the original launch of the site, Filmbuffet has achieved steady growth in membership. “Members have expressed how easy the site makes it to connect with other movie fans, discover new movie recommendations and keep track of movies seen or the films they plan to see,” adds Juan Carlos Martinez, President of Filmbuffet. “It’s become a place for movie fans to discuss films that leave them guessing or vent about the movies that were a total waste of time or money.”
To date, over 20 enhancements and upgrades have been made to the site. One of the most recent enhancements added was a movie badge for every member. The Member Movie Badge feature showcases the type of movies dominating a member’s movie collection and is designed for easy sharing on Twitter, Facebook and Google +.
Future enhancements on tap for 2013 include the addition of a movie trailer section. Movie trailers are currently available on each movie page. The new feature will make trailers easier to access and view.
Filmbuffet is a free, movie-focused social networking site. Movie lovers can join the network by logging-in using their Facebook ID or creating a unique member ID.
