The 2012 Halstead Grant Competition for New Silver Jewelry Designers is Now Accepting Entries

One new silver jewelry artist will win a $6,000 grant prize package for their small business.

Halstead Bead Inc. is now accepting entries from new silver jewelry artists for its 7th annual grant competition. The winner of the 2012 business development grant will receive a prize package including $6,000 in cash and merchandise. The final submission deadline is June 9th, 2012.

Designers using jewelry making techniques such as casting, metalsmithing, metal clay, wire work or beading are eligible to enter the competition. The artist’s primary metal medium should be silver; however, other accent materials are welcome. Candidates must be US citizens who began their businesses within the last three years.

Complete application details can be found on The Halstead Grant website. Candidates are required to submit a design portfolio, résumé and answers to several business planning questions.
