Keith Simmons, Partner at Leading Tennessee Law Firm, Elected Chair of Lex Mundi Officers and Four Directors Begin New Terms

Keith Simmons, Managing Partner of Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, Lex Mundi member firm for Tennessee, was elected Chair of Lex Mundi by the organization's Board of Directors during the 2012 Lex Mundi Leadership Summit and Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Lex Mundi is the world's leading association of independent law firms with 160 member firms and more than 21,000 lawyers worldwide.

Lex Mundi's Board of Directors also elected Nadège Nguyen of Gide Loyrette Nouel A.A.R.P.I. (France) to the position of Chair-Elect, Keith Vaughan of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP (USA, North Carolina) to the position of Secretary, and James DeMent of Baker Botts L.L.P. (USA, Texas) to the position of Treasurer.

Christel Van den Eynden of Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick (Belgium) and Alvin Shiozaki of Nishimura & Asahi (Japan) will serve on the Executive Committee along with Mr. Simmons, Ms. Nguyen, Mr. Vaughan, Mr. DeMent, Simon Truskett of Clayton Utz (Australia), the out-going Chair, and Carl Anduri, Lex Mundi's President.

At the same Annual Meeting, the membership elected four new directors to the Lex Mundi Board of Directors: Pallavi Shroff of Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. (India), Rob Granatstein of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Canada, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec ), Paulo Coelho da Rocha of Demarest e Almeida (Brazil), and John Matson of Arthur Cox (Ireland and Northern Ireland). They will serve four-year terms.
