Our goal was to provide Q1Medicare users with a simpler searching alternative so they can quickly review coverage details on all available Medicare prescription drug plans, with only one mouse-click.
Saint Augustine, FL (PRWEB) October 31, 2011
Although the number of stand-alone Medicare Part D plans has declined over the past few years, seniors in every state are still presented with an average of 31 Medicare Part D plan choices for 2012. To help the Medicare community get an overview of the available stand-alone 2012 Medicare Part D plans in their area, Q1Medicare.com now provides their updated 2012 Medicare Part D plan search tool or PDP-Finder.
The Q1Medicare PDP-Finder was designed to provide an easy way for people to review all 2012 Medicare Part D prescription drug plans at one time, along with key prescription drug plan coverage information. Users can the find the PDP-Finder directly at PDP-Finder.com and only need to click on their state to see all of the 2012 Medicare Part D plans offered in their area.
Each Medicare Part D prescription drug plan is listed with monthly premium, initial deductible, Gap or Donut Hole coverage details, drug tier co-payment or cost sharing information, Star-Quality Ratings, and whether the Medicare Part D plan qualifies for the Low-Income Subsidy $0 premium. The PDP-Finder also provides a link to every specific Medicare Part D plan formulary or drug list and users can go directly to the specific plan formulary and browse it electronically.
“We have found that many online Medicare plan tools have become more complicated over the past years and the complexity of these tools makes the Medicare Part D plan selection process even more difficult for many seniors,” notes Dr. Susan Johnson, co-founder and technical director of the Q1Medicare.com site. “Our goal was to provide Q1Medicare users with a simpler searching alternative so they can quickly review coverage details on all available Medicare prescription drug plans, with only one mouse-click.”
Users of the Q1Medicare PDP-Finder can also choose to see additional features of all state-wide prescription drug plans by changing the default search fields and view information like the total number of formulary medications, the plan’s enrollment figures, or the plan’s initial coverage limit. More advanced users can also filter the PDP-Finder search results based on monthly premiums, Donut Hole coverage, or plans qualifying for the Low-Income Subsidy $0 premium.
The Q1Medicare 2012 PDP-Finder includes a “T” icon under the plan names, allowing users to read about the Medicare Part D plan’s coverage in a “simple text” format. Users can also choose the “detail” icon and view a chart summarizing the coverage details of the particular plan. As with all other Q1Medicare.com tools, the 2012 PDP-Finder is designed for use on PCs, tablets, and smartphones.
Q1Medicare.com reminds seniors that the 2012 annual Open Enrollment Period is ending on December 7th and if they wish to add, change, or drop their Medicare Part D plan coverage they should do so before the December 7th deadline. After December 7th, most Medicare beneficiaries will have only a limited opportunity to change their 2012 Medicare Part D coverage until 2013.
