SharePoint Solutions will host a webinar Dec. 5 that explores the benefits of SharePoint extranet collaboration, along with an overview of the company’s add-on solution that creates, secures, manages, monitors and streamlines the use of SharePoint 2010 extranets. The SharePoint extranet webinar, which is free and includes Q&A time, begins at 11 a.m. EST.

“The good news is that SharePoint 2010 is made for collaboration and loaded with built-in collaboration tools. It gives you the framework to provide business partners and clients 24/7/365 access to the information they need from you via extranet collaboration,” said Randy Moody, customer service manager for SharePoint Solutions and co-host of the webinar.

“The not-so-good news is that there are quite a few hurdles to overcome when implementing SharePoint as an extranet,” he continued. “Out of the box, SharePoint does not provide an easy way to deploy, secure and manage an extranet, nor is it easy for users to navigate.”

SharePoint Extranet Collaboration Manager 2010 (ExCM) for SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Foundation 2010 provides the easy SharePoint extranet collaboration and simplified SharePoint extranet administration that SharePoint is missing in the out-of-the-box product.

“IBM, Best Buy, AT Kearney and Microsoft are among the companies that chose this product for their extranets,” noted Matthew McBride, customer support manager for SharePoint Solutions’ software division and webinar co-host. “They recognized that ExCM is a comprehensive solution which provides secure, affordable and easy-to-use SharePoint 2010 extranet collaboration.”

The ExCM version for SharePoint 2013 is currently in public beta, McBride added.

Based in Nashville, Tenn., SharePoint Solutions is a Microsoft Certified Partner and a nationwide leader in expert-led public classes on SharePoint products and technologies. The company’s software division professionally develops high-quality commercial add-ons for SharePoint.
