Together, big data, cloud computing, and APIs are reshaping how companies are developing, delivering and managing applications. WSO2 Founder and CEO Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana will examine their impact in his keynote presentation at the Sixteenth IEEE International EDOC Conference in Beijing. The EDOC 2012 enterprise computing event will be held September 10-14, 2012 at the Unisplendour International Centre in Beijing, China.
Dr. Weerawarana will present his keynote, “The Coming Application Revolution,” on Thursday, September 13, 2012. In his talk, he will explore how the application landscape is rapidly shifting in the wake of big data, cloud computing, and the expanded role of APIs, and he will examine the need for a new range of technologies for rapidly building managed applications. Additionally, he will discuss how a solution lies in a confluence of technologies from scalable platforms as a service to API management to consistent, integrated identity management.
Dr. Weerawarana founded WSO2 in 2005 in order to reinvent the way enterprise middleware is developed, delivered and supported through an open source model. He has played a pioneering role in open source standards for many years. An elected Apache Software Foundation member, he is the original creator of Apache SOAP, and he is a contributor to Apache Axis, Apache Axis2, and most Apache Web services projects.
About the IEEE International EDOC Conference
Since 1997, the IEEE International EDOC Conference has been the key annual event in enterprise computing, addressing the full range of models, methodologies, and engineering technologies contributing to intra- and inter-enterprise distributed/cloud application systems. The conference emphasizes a holistic view of enterprise applications engineering and management, fostering integrated approaches that can address and relate processes, people and technology. Openness and distributed computing, based on services, components and objects are important themes. EDOC 2012 will focus on the impacts of services and cloud to enterprise architecture. Expert panel discussions and keynotes will address hot topics and issues in the domain. Complete details are available at http://18.104.22.168/edoc/index.html.
