WSO2 to Present Technical Webinar on Online Booking Automation Case Study

WSO2 and leading automotive group will co-present a case study webinar on September 26 on automating online booking processes using the WSO2 ESB

The American Automobile Association (AAA) is organized as a federation of motor clubs serving more than 53 million members throughout the United States and Canada. The AAA Ohio Automobile Club uses Travel Syndication Technology (TST) for all of its online bookings of air, car and hotel travel. WSO2 and AAA Ohio Automobile Club will conduct a case study webinar to discuss how enterprise service bus (ESB) technology was used to integrate TST with AAA Ohio’s system and automate the online booking process, including key architectural and technology decisions.

Using the WSO2 ESB to Optimize Travel Booking Processes

The webinar will explore how the AAA Ohio Automobile Club changed its online booking processes and simplified systems integration with the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus. The session also will examine how the WSO2 ESB converts bookings from TST to the standard OpenTravel Alliance (OTA) format, which is then accepted by AAA Ohio Automobile Club’s information management system, AXIS portal. Additionally, the webinar will dig into how the WSO2 ESB, serving as a load balancer, was deployed to distribute the load to cluster nodes.

Webinar Presenters

The webinar will be conducted by four experts from WSO2 and the AAA Ohio Automobile Club, who were involved in the online booking automation project.

Rob Zahn, AAA Ohio Automobile Club CIO, has over 20 years of industry experience specializing in the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems supporting business operations and development.

Randy Mullins, AAA Ohio Automobile Club Web technology analyst, focuses on all aspects of the company's intranet site, developing Web applications to meet technical and communication goals. Randy also serves as a technical lead for the TST booking service.

Chintana Wilamuna, WSO2 senior technical lead on the WSO2 solution architecture team, focuses on infrastructure development. He specializes in cloud computing, distributed and parallel computing, high scalable architectures, programming languages, and functional programming. He also started the WSO2 Web Services Frameworks for Ruby and Perl.

Dushan Abeyruwan, WSO2 senior software engineer and a member of the WSO2 integration technologies team, focuses on the WSO2 ESB. Dushan also has provided WSO2 QuickStart program consulting services to assist customers in using the WSO2 ESB to implement enterprise integration patterns that support their business requirements.
