Things Festive, an online retailer of wedding and special occasion invitations and accessories, today announced its commitment to donate 25% of net sales (via its websites at thingsfestive.com and thingsfestivepapers.com) from now until November 5, 2012 to Young Survival Coalition.
“As a company whose customer base is primarily women under 40, we are delighted to lend our support to this outstanding charity,” said Lisa Owens, Operations Manager for the Things Festive family of brands. “During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we see this as a way to honor not only the young women that we serve but young women worldwide.”
Founded in 1998 by three young breast cancer survivors, the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier international organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women facing breast cancer. Unlike post-menopausal women with breast cancer, young women face higher mortality rates, fertility issues and the possibility and ramifications of early menopause. YSC works with survivors, caregivers and the medical, research, advocacy and legislative communities to increase the quality and quantity of life for women ages 40 and under diagnosed with breast cancer and to encourage the focus of more resources on this underserved segment of the population. YSC is one of the most fiscally responsible charities in the country according to Charity Navigator.
